About our Winter Camps, and new Nov. date announced! 10-13,2023
The vision for what is now the Sun Devil Winter Camp was hatched years ago. We wanted to provide the ultimate college golf preparation camp by giving a junior golfer a true simulated college golf experience. We thought it would be 8-12 campers, they would stay at Coach Thurmond’s house, and we would cover anything and everything college golf over 3-4 days while having a great team experience from early morning until late at night. All the other camps we saw were the same station-to-station routine, but this would be wildly different with the small size, coaches deeply connected in the instruction 24/7, and a full simulated team experience.
Introducing Year Two of Turning Stones Training Camps
As the Fall Season of college golf winds down, our focus (Coach Armen and Coach Matt) turns to our goals with Turning Stones Trainings. We want to provide a variety of the best possible camp and training experiences for future college golfers. Our camps will always be planned and operated by us, the actual coaches, and we love connecting with young golfers directly and deeply. We will also build our camps to prepare each student for the recruiting process, and for being a successful college golfer in the future.
Resilience Is the Signature of Greatness
Recently David Puig traveled back to Madrid, Spain to play in his very first professional event, the Spanish Open. With all the country watching, David dazzled with his Seve-like slashing, missing many fairways, but scrapping his way to a score of 10-under, and finishing as the Low Amateur.

At a recent banquet I attended Barbara Nicklaus said, “Saying thank you is the greatest prayer.” She followed by saying that “saying ‘thank you’ shows humility and understanding.”
